Hundreds of people living in Pittsburgh’s East End communities don’t know where their next meal is coming from. From infants and children to a growing number of seniors, EECM reaches out to all those who are experiencing the pain – and the desperation – of hunger.

MEALS ON WHEELS prepares and deliver nutritious meals to frail / homebound residents every weekday. Besides healthy meals, recipients can look forward to a friendly visit, and family members can be assured that someone is checking on their loved ones.

Service areas include East Liberty, Friendship, Garfield, Larimer, and Lincoln-Lemington. A minimal donation is requested for this service. Meals are prepared and delivered out of the kitchen at East Liberty Presbyterian Church, largely through the efforts of a dedicated volunteer pool.

The FOOD PANTRY is an assistance program for those in immediate need of food. In addition to providing emergency groceries and supplies, volunteers provide help with budgeting, information on assistance programs, and access to social service agencies and other appropriate programs. Clergy are available at the Food Pantry to offer spiritual support.

The Food Pantry is housed at East Liberty Presbyterian Church, 116 S. Highland Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15206 and is open from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The Pantry serves residents in zip codes 15206, 15224, 15232, and 15217.

The SOUP KITCHEN serves hot lunches Monday through Friday. It is located in East Liberty Presbyterian Church and is open from 11:15 am to 12:30 pm.

Contact EECM Hunger Services for further information on any of these programs. If you can share a few hours of your time to help feed the hungry, please contact the EECM Volunteer Coordinator. Volunteers are always needed.
