EECM programs reach out to young people to help them discover – and work toward – a more promising future. A variety of programs help children and youth succeed in school, explore new interests, set personal and career goals, and shun the destructive forces that are all too common in their world.

IN-SCHOOL / AFTER-SCHOOL OUTREACH programs provide academic support, recreational activities, life skills training, career development, and intensive intervention for elementary, middle, and high school students.

EXTRAORDINARY TUTORING is an after-school program that provides one-on-one support for students from kindergarten through 12th grade. Each week, students meet with tutors for help with particular subjects or skill areas.

PROJECT REDISCOVERY is a drug and alcohol prevention program designed to reduce the risk factors leading to substance abuse and violence. Incorporated into all Children & Youth programs, it includes age-appropriate education, refusal and resistance skills, and community advocacy.

SUMMER DAY CAMP provides a wide variety of fun recreational activities and learning experiences for youth ages 5-16. Each year, this five-week program is the highlight of the summer for 250 active youngsters.

HOOP-IT-UP TOURNAMENT runs during basketball season and includes clinics and a tournament for 4th through 12th grade students. The program promotes healthy competition and healthy lifestyles through tobacco prevention education.

TAKE OUR SONS / DAUGHTERS TO WORK DAY matches middle and high school students with professionals working in fields in which the students express an interest. Students explore careers with the help and guidance of positive role models.

YOUTH BUSINESS INITIATIVE is an entrepreneur training program for high school students. A group of students from local schools organizes, raises money for, and implements an arts and music celebration for children (Kidz E-Fest) held in July in East Liberty.
