What do you do when you’re hungry? Check your fridge for leftovers? Grab your favorite snack from the pantry? Run to the grocery store? Unfortunately, many people in our community don’t have those options.

Your gift to our Have a Heart for Hunger Campaign will help us serve over 1,100 hot meals per week in our Community House Kitchen, and give 450 families over 30lbs of groceries each month from our Food Pantry. This year, we received a letter from a first time client:

“When I initially looked at my empty cupboards and refrigerator I panicked and my anxiety levels rose through the roof.  Once I was referred to you I started a process of having to get over the pride I had with asking for and getting assistance.  The moment I walked into the food the volunteers, and you made me feel comfortable and welcomed, and as a result, alleviated my shame and hesitation in turning to you. I am so grateful for your help.  I have never cried getting groceries and food; I cried out of relief and gratitude most of my way home.”

Community Nutrition Services requires $3,000 per day to operate:

$250 buys ten people a week’s worth of hot meals at Community Lunch $200 provides a year’s worth of groceries for one family

Will you open your heart for those who are hungry and make a gift that will put dinner on the table for hundreds of families? Be their lifeline with a gift during the Have Heart for Hunger Campaign.
