EECM’s new Executive Director

There has been a lot of change at EECM in the last year! A new building, new and different programs, and now…(drumroll!!) The Board of Directors has announced that Michael J. Mingrone will succeed Myrna Zelenitz as the agency’s Executive Director, as of August 18.

“I am very excited and eager to join the EECM team,” Michael said. “As we move forward, we will honor the successes of the past and strive to continue to build our programs and services in order to meet the needs of the community. We shall empower, engage and invest in the entire community with interfaith principles that have guided EECM since inception.”

Michael comes to EECM from North Side Christian Health Center (NSCHC) where he has served as Associate Director and Chief Operating Officer since 2010. At NSCHC, Michael led the planning and direction of all programming areas of the organization, always working to ensure that the needs of the community were met effectively. He has extensive work and volunteer experience including community outreach, volunteer coordination, and fundraising in organizations such as the American Red Cross and the August Wilson Center for African American Culture. He also has experience teaching as a part-time instructor at the University of Pittsburgh and Robert Morris University. His educational background is in clinical psychology and he spent several years as a child and adolescent case manager at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic.

Frost, president of EECM’s Board of Directors. “Michael has extensive experience, a broad background in the non-profit sector, integrity and character. More importantly, he has an understanding of, and a commitment to, EECM’s mission.”

EECM staff and Board are all eagerly looking to the future as Michael steps in to lead the organization. We will continue to develop a living mission that is grounded in principle and purpose yet always evolving to meet changing community needs, equipped with a facility that will serve this mission for the next forty years.
